What are some options?

I have a few rolls of 3ft metal flashing that I wrap around the house and steak them in with some cut rebar. Works great and you can re-use for years.

I understand roofers felt is great to wall up the space underneath

I use a combination of thin plywood, a tarp, and sheet tin all staked against the house. Improvise to survive. Haha!

I’ve never bothered. Would be a giant pain to get it all.
I usually run water through all faucets inside and out before going to bed and again first thing in the morning. For below 20, I may do it in the middle of the night. I don’t typically like dripping stuff unless it will be days without getting above freezing.

I thought I was the only one that did that. I’ll set my alarm 2 or 3 times a night, run water, and go back to sleep.

Get up a couple of times at night and flush a couple toilets. It gets the water moving.

Get up and run your dishwasher or a load of laundry I. The middle of the night.

Just put your dishwasher and washer machine on timers to run while you are sleeping. A heavy towel load and a full load dishwash.
One on 2 hours and one on 6.
