Currently, my hood vent is dumping into my attic. I am looking for someone in Lafayette who can run it through my roof. Does anybody know a person? Thanks.

I mean what town is your house located in?
I can give recommendations for central Mississippi.

I can’t give recommendations for that area, but a handyman type with a little roofing experience should be able to do that in an hour. Just be sure he gets a quality boot to go around the pipe on the outside of the roof (seal between the shingles and the new pipe so you don’t have any roof leaks when done.

Find a roofing company, tell them what you need done. In BTR, I have a guy, but doubt he’d drive to Laffy. Too much work here.

run it through my roof.
any HVAC supply shop would have everything you need
otherwise you will need a roofer

I was told the run is too long and would diminish my vent's power.

Have a roofer come install the roof vent properly and most A/C guys can pipe right to it.

Does $600-$700 to install the vent sound reasonable? Sounds kind of high to me.
