Years ago, my FIL bought a greenworks 60v blower.

I got one too with a chainsaw combo.
Cut anything I want down.
Bought three more blowers and a weed wacker.
Than the hedge trimmer.

I kept buying them to stay on same platform.

I’d recommend buying a 60 volt or higher. I’ve heard it’s ego or bust, but I’ve done fine with greenworks.

Just go to slickdeals and buy a platform you want and stick with it.

My self-propel stopped working about 10 years ago. I’ve been pushing without it since

Ok, for real. Like WTF. All that effort to push a lawn mower for 10 years when the price of a new one was under $500 up until a couple years ago. Geez, take my money before I put myself through 2 hours of pushing in this heat

Have had my Ego mower 5 years now and I haven't noticed the battery dip in the slightest.
Guess I'm screwed when I hit that magic 6 year mark next year.
If it was anything like the haters believe you would have replaced the battery twice already and about to for a 3rd time.

Don't know why they hate that batteries are so good now.

even if a battery loses 20% of its life (which is a drastic drop), a 60 minute runtime becomes 48 minutes. 10% drop is a 54 minute run. it's also likely that the owner will have the same ecosystem of batteries and can swap at will. if not, oh well. charge it up and do other stuff in the mean time.

The people who hate on the ego products have never used one, that's a fact.

My old yard was zoysia in the front and God knows what in the backyard. I had pine trees lining my back yard, so grass never grew thick and pushing was effortless.

Just moved and it is thick St. Aug in back and centipede in the front. After 2 cuts, I decided it’s time to upgrade.

I’m buying the EGO Wednesday and will report back.

Which model are you getting? My hesitation is how well do they cut tall wet St. Aug grass. Any many times I've had no choice but to cut when it's raining. Will a little rain hurt the Ego?

Greenworks has a more durable and slightly heavier deck...yet light enough to not need self propelled. Using turbo should walk you through tall grass.
Speaking of cutting wet grass these electric mowers are extremely easy to clean and store.

Yep flip to any orientation without worry of fluids going where they're not supposed to. Huge advantage IMO.

On the Ego FB page there are several complaints about this. Some even put bricks on the front to weigh it down.

This is an absurd talking point. Nobody is putting bricks on their ego mowers to get a uniform cut.

I'm just saying that's what I read. They're getting mohawks from the unit being so light. I know it has to be operator error. They have a FB owner's group. Go check it out.

so this dude is ruining a $80 pair of 'hey dudes' along w/ attaching a dumbell to his mower for...what again exactly?

i have sloped property and as much clover as i have grass & weeds and there's not a single time i looked back at my yard and said 'oh look, the cut isn't even'.

these guys sound like trolls.
