We are about to start a rebuild on our camp. What account type do I need at HD to get contractor or discounted pricing on materials?

TIA

you arent going t be buying enough volume to get a discount though. i spend 100k+ a year at the depot and dont get any meaningful discounts

Are you locked into HD?

You can get an account at a lumber store and work through their contractor department and get a discount.

Best discount you are getting is 10% with a credit card but they limit it so much now it isn't even a consideration when I am looking. I think the last deal was max $100 discount...

I second using a local lumber yard. I set up a charge account with one when I built my house and if I paid before the 5th of each month I got a 5% discount. Wasn’t much but it helped in the end

You have to do a lot of business with them and also know the store managers / pro desk people to get discounts. We spend $500,000 or more yearly with them and get pretty good discounts, but even that varies by item. We worked a specific deal out on shingles, but lumber, Sheetrock etc is just a little more than their volume discount. They have the bid room that they will send any thing over $1,500 to and sometimes that will produce some discounts. Again that depends on what the items are.
