Likely a backup on the branch draining the sink. Is this kitchen or bath? Any gurgling from any other drains in other parts of the house?

Which sink? If bathroom and wife’s I’d be leery of a hair clog. Clean p trap out.

Drain blockage somewhere.

Could be a vent pipe restriction if it's not a clog. Do you have a lot of squirrels around your house?

That’s a stopped up sewer line….you flowed some water into it somewhere and it is pushing sewer gas out of the p-trap where you hear gurgling.
Don’t ignore it, or it will back up in your house somewhere when the pipe gets full.

Do you have water treatment equipment, like a water softener by chance? Mine is plumbed into one of the master bath sinks. It is more of a running water sound but I guess I could mistake it for a gurgling noise.

Mine ended up being cast iron failing after 50+ ears and collapsing/sagging. I'm pulling for you that it is not that
