Trying to get after a plan for the yard this year. Did the cleggs cocktail in early March, but am having this pop up in my front yard. Brown patch? It showed up last year too so I put down some disease-ex… any help would be appreciated

In addition to Disease X, also put Bug-B-Gone or something similar in case it’s some type of turf damaging insect.

Certainly looks like large patch (formerly called brown patch). Disease EX (asoxystrobin) is a very good therapeutic but as ronk often suggest, use propiconazole on brown patch and rotate with asoxystrobin to mitigate the possibly of fungal resistance.

Is that St. Aug?

Let me just throw this out there. How sure are you your mix was correct? I’m seeing possible herbicide damage.

That’s what I’m thinking at first blush. Those lines don’t look naturally occurring to me.

Thanks for the input. It is St. Aug.

Pretty sure the mix was correct. Between the back yard and front I sprayed 6000ft and this is the only area that this has happened in. I thought perhaps the lines match up to the roots of the live oak, but that’s all I could think to explain them. Any idea what I should do from here?

Check the stolons and see if they’re green. If only the leaf is brown then the grass will come back.

I’m going through process of elimination

Edit-if you can pull a leaf out and take a picture and find a stolon and take a picture. Only in the affected area.

I’m listening and learning from the experts on this one.

Maybe bump up that lawn mower deck an inch also for less stress on the St. Aug. When you cross over a root it may be scalping the grass above the root.
