Buy Bifen, mix and spray aall foliage and structure around your patio once a month. This will repel mosquitoes and most other pests and easily lasts a month per application.
I done even put Off on my 3 toddlers anymore.

I use an old school fogger. You have to do it a few times a week and I usually do it before having company over. Do it right at dusk so the fog settles to the ground. Make sure you hit up your scrubs and plants real good. Oh, and don't breathe it in.

Best secret and proven remedy:
Fans.
Ceiling fan, or an oscillating fan, heck even a box fan.
Fans work. Candles and torches don’t.
We tried everything and had a ton of mosquitoes due to a creek in the backyard. Put in a ceiling fan and poof, no more mosquitoes.

Spray perimeter, especially under decks and in shrubs 10 minutes or so prior to being outside. Works great for me.

This. I also spray the concrete and siding around the patio. Some evenings it looks like a force field at the edge of my yard where I can see them swarming but only see a few under the patio.

The Spartan tubes work great, but you have to put them out at the right times, to kill the colony before it gets going. Read up on their website about what time depending on your location.

This is all the services do, they add some scents to the mixture just so it smells like they’ve sprayed some secret mixture.
