where are you seeing this? Lowe's show delivery at the end of October. Home Depot doesn't show anything. Maybe someone local has a stockpile

Generac is not restocked.

They just sent letters out to dealers about shortages.

It would seem to me you would want a standby generator to actually start when you pwer goes out.

So why would you consider buying a Generac?

Lots of Generacs on my street, lots of problems, and after reading the Lake Charles hurricane thread here on TD last summer, and the problems people there had with Generacs, I bought a Cummings.

Lots of Kohlers are run here in the NE (where about half the homes have standbys). Worth the extra cost over the Generac.

I have researched Generac extensively, both Internet reviews and people around my community.Up until the last couple of years they were pretty reliable, last couple of years they tend to fail in short order.
Makes me think they have cheapened up their manufacturing.Their water cooled generators apparently are pretty reliable but are quite a bit more expensive. My rural water system has a water cooled Generac that has been pretty reliable . It did break break down during Laura and we didn’t have water a couple of days.
