I will try to word this as best as I can to visualize for you. But every so often, and now happening more frequently, my garage door won’t open when I press the button. The motor on the opener will hum. I can then walk over and pull the string for the manual lift I’m assuming, and it releases so much tension and pops the door free, and then I’m able to push the button and it opens. I have a video on my phone but don’t know how to show that

May have an adjustment on the motor to add more force.

You can try to reset the torque limit setting. You may be jamming the door when it closes. There are also probably limit switches on the track that will stop the door when it is fully open or closed. Make sure that the closed switch is engaging when the door is closed.

You could also check to make sure that the tracks have not shifted or twisted. That's all I got.

Thanks for all tips. It’s chain driven. It does seem to slam down kinda hard when it closes

did you pay extra for the guillotine option when you had it installed?

Sounds to me like you may have a spring problem. Garage door springs are nothing to frick around with, if you aren’t experienced. Call some company to help with that,
