Front yard landscaping ideas and help

Looking for some ideas and maybe some pics of front yard landscaping that anyone on the board has recently done. I’ve seen several new landscapes done using compacta hollys and would like to go that route but what do you plant behind them? If anyone can help me out with some pics and what’s the name of some of the plants used in your designs.
I could easily google it but still don’t know the names of the shrubs and cans never find the type of landscaping I have seen around here in south louisiana that I seem to like.

southern living has a great landscaping of the south book that they update every year. Worth seeking out for good ideas and it gives detailed plant descriptions with pix and planting tips

Find pics you like and go to Clegg’s and ask for help.
There’s also plenty of people that will do a full landscape layout/design for you for relatively cheap. They’re pretty good at selecting plants that are suitable for our area and specific to your layout.

Yeah, was looking to not have to go that route. Was hoping to get picks from people that have already done it and get the types of plants, planted as well.

We just walked around the neighborhood a bunch and saw what other people are doing. From there, we figured out what we liked, plant species (iPhone - camera plant ID), and general spacing and counts. Went to large nursery out of the city and loaded the trailer up. We received all the soil and conditioner specifics from horticulturist on staff and verified spacing and watering/fertilizing specifics.
Note: we started from scratch so had a blank canvas of river sand to build upon.

Soft touch Holley, I like them better then compacta. Shi shi Camilla’s are nice. Knock out roses provide good color.
