Yep, been using bifen granules the past 3 years solely on high areas in my yard. One application per year works for me. I apply it with a Scotts "walk-behind" spreader.

I do the granules in the spring and then just spray talstar the rest of the year.

Seems to work.

Is CGrand really going to spray chemicals on his natural lawn?! Don’t kill the Ants!

Fire ants are invasive. To not kill them makes you a Communist traitor to your country. They're in the same pile as European Starlings and House Sparrows.

Spot treating mounds and protecting your home via foundation treatment and such is a different approach than regularly broadcasting wide-spectrum insecticides on your property, trees, and shrubs.

Hand full of BiFen on the mounds kills them dead. That's what we use.

I hate fire ants with a fiery passion but I can’t bring myself to do a broadcast treatment of pesticide. I spot treat only. Too many good bugs.

I put out Talstar XTRA granular on 30+ mounds at my farm this weekend. Have somewhere around 1000 more mounds to hit but its a start.
