Fertilizer before or after top soil

Going to have some top soil put down and was wondering if it is better to wait or put it down before the top soil goes down

Why top soil? Most top soil is not true dirt.

Something to fill spots and hold some moisture. My clay ground is cracking

Mason sand level. Compost for dry spots. Top soil is shite unless it’s true soil made of sand, silt, and clay.

Mason sand should have no pebbles since it’s used for mixing mortar. They sift it so the only way you would get pebbles is if you got the wrong stuff.

You asked for mason sand. They didn't have any but wanted your money. They told you they had mason sand.

I make sure I get the super sacks. It’s clean and they can place it wherever you need it.

I always go to Woerners in Baton Rouge for my leveling sand, but any sod supply company should have what you need and know what not to give you.
