Exterior Lighting - Down or Up

I want to add exterior lights to my house. I like both the ones that shine down and the ones that shine up. Which ones are considered nicer?

Down if the lights are on your house shining on your yard/flowerbed and up if they are in the yard/flower bed shinning on your house.

I have soffit lights on my house (shining down) and they look good
I do think lights shining up from the flowerbeds look nicer, especially if the house is on the taller side.

I installed well lights in concrete pavers I bored out, definitely prefer how they look compared to soffit fixtures.

Up is always a better look to me unless you have a very specific modern style home
