Not as horrible as it looked on the surface originally. Are they removing the existing fans/lights then rehanging the new ones? With the amount of work on that list I don’t think it’s too far off. Most will charged per light, receptacle, etc vs hourly.
Adding new electrical anything in existing can be time consuming as hell; hanging a new fan requires a box in the attic capable of handling the weight. New you could hit a joyce, or add a 2x between them to screw the box too. Adding to existing usually means you have to get in the attic to just hang the box. And not sure if you’ve ever hung a damn fan, but gd they are a pain in the butt no matter what. I hung probably 300 in an apartment complex one summer and still think they are a pain.

House is in Lake Charles and was a gut to studs, runs are in place, all new fans & lights. We are talking about plugging shite in and twisting nuts for the most part. Not a baller but I pay were well for a poor boy and always in ca$h so I expect to not get butt farked.

Oh shite yea I didn’t realize that. Literally just hanging new everything, no replacing, No pulling wire, adding boxes etc. You’re absolutely correct. No way in hell it should be that much. MAYBE half that for an electrical company to come do that, prob closer to a grand if someone were doing it on the side.

I mean, OP, you aren’t shooting us very straight here. Yes it seems crazy high, but it went from 4 lights for $3000 and now your task list has like 20 or more items on it. Still seems high, but maybe there’s some work your wife asked for that you don’t know about? Given that, $3000 in labor is a couple days of work so I’d certainly expect you to know the guy was there forever.

Original invoice was not itemized, I’m was going off what has been completed. I have been paying subs a draw for completed work but not advancing on incomplete work.

I paid $175 to replace a disconnect on the outside, 2 kids did it from one of the big electric places. It took them a couple hours, but that included time running to get the part. They did it in the freezing rain too and they wouldn't take a tip, drinks, nothing. I was about to offer them some ammo and my wife stopped me when I was coming down the hall with some 5.56 and 9mm.
