don't waste money on an EGO with only one blade; you need the dual blades so whichever model you get; make sure you've got the dual blade system.

I have the single blade. It's fine. I'm sure the dual is better, but single high lift for bagging seems fine so far.

how big is your lot?

The 7.5 runs about an hour using self propelled. I have put 5ah batteries in and it cuts my entire front now with enough juice to blow things off. Its not a small lot but not huge, a typical Broadmoor lot.

You don't need self propelled all the time either, the mower is really light. The best part is my wife will cut the grass a lot of times if I have to work on a Saturday I'll come home and not have to worry about it. She would NEVER with my old Honda.

My chargers are older but the newest fast chargers can recharge your battery in an hour, if not full enough to finish what you need to do.

I have an older select cut, the one piece carbon shaft trimmer, the 650cfm blower, the multi tool power head, edger, pole chain saw and pole hedge trimmer with only 3 batteries and I have never been able to out use the batteries even if my wife was mowing and I was edging and blowing.

I have the non self propelled ego push mower. I love it. Super light weight. I’m on 1/3 acre and can easily mow front and back yard with charge left.

1. plastic deck. did you see the reviewer under the Select Cut who said a small rock was picked up and shot a hole through it?

Greenworks has steel deck
Cheaper, too
Don't be afraid of push models with electric mowers. Save money and pay less. No engine makes them much lighter. Pushing is a breeze.

Yep my son can handle it and he’s 8.

I have the self propelled version but never use that feature. It is very light. Same battery then switches to my blower. This is the 4th year, no issues
ps at the time, this version was on sale, less expensive than the non-propelled

I can't imagine paying the premium for the self-propelled in my personal situation. My yard is pretty large for a subdivision, just oddly shaped since we are on "corner" lot in a big sweeping curve. Just not enough long straight areas. It'd be useful for about 20' at a time. They are extremely light. And with a 5ah battery, I still have 50% battery life after mowing my entire yard.

Thanks for all the replies and wanted to give an update.

When possible, I like to buy from my local Ace Hardware so checked out the Ace site and it took them a couple of days but they ended up putting the Model LM2135SP on sale for the same price as Lowes. Pulled the trigger on that one and made my first cut on Saturday. Have to say, was very impressed. Also, to those who said the self-propel may not be necessary, I ended up using it some but as stated this thing is very light so not sure if paying an extra $100 (ish) is worth it if your yard is small and flat.

Thanks again for the input folks!

I wouldn't worry about self-propelled. Ego mowers are superlight. My wife pushes ours just fine, even on an incline. Save the money and get the biggest battery you can.
