Dying pine tree?

Noticed a pine tree in my yard with the bark peeling off. After further inspection I was able to peel off bark easily with almost like a sawdust stuck to the tree behind the bark. Noticed pinholes in the bark and little white grubs randomly. Can I save this tree?

It’s gone. Due to the drought, it weakened the tree, then the insects/ pine bark Beatles took over. Tons of Pines have been taken out. My buddy lost close to 10 trees.

I’ve got 7 huge pine trees in my yard that are dead.I’ll have to pay a tree surgeon to cut them down as I don’t trust myself to mess with trees that big.
I bought a tractor with a grapple so I’ll cut them up up and do the cleanup myself.
Then there are about 20 smaller pines between road in front of my house next to the high line that runs through the property.I can cut them myself, have my wife pull them right way with the tractor.
Not looking forward to all that bullshite.

going to be a rough spring, there are a LOT of dead trees out there that people are not aware of and wont be till after green up and so many trees will still be brown
Pines specifically, I have some acreage in SW MS and there is a pretty good dent in the pine population

I'd say it's dead and is not coming back. I had a deceased elderly neighbor next door at my first house. He had several dead pines while I had a couple in our back yards. Same symptoms you describe. I was concerned about them but my dead neighbors adult daughters thought they would come back. I called the city of Hoover Arborist who came out and said they were indeed dead and will not come back. I cut mine down myself. He wrote me a letter so I could mail it to the dead neighbors daughters so they could do something about their dads dead trees before they fall onto my house or kids playing in the backyard. They were pissed! Both lived out of town, and the next time I saw one of them next door, I went over to talk to them about the trees and the letter from the city Arborist. Immediately caught attitude from them both. I ended up telling them how it was going to be. You either pay to cut down your dads dead trees or the city will do it and bill you bitches for it. They paid for them to be cut down.

Nope...and if it's the beetles that killed it look to all the rest to follow.

Will your city really cut a dead tree in someone's yard? My city won't even cut down their own dead trees in the street median or around city buildings.
Here, the choices would be (1) cut down your dad's dead trees or (2) you and your insurance will have to pay for the damage when they fall on my house when you knew they were rotten.
