Yeah, I feel for you but I'm sure you'll survive the divorce.

I see mostly Bosch and KitchenAid in here, so I guess I'll go with KitchenAid again and hope it's gremlin-free?

Wife decided we needed a new one. Ours is the age of the house- a shade over 20 years. It’s missing one of 8 wheels on the bottom rack, and I have cleaned the spray arms out a few times. I run it with vinegar every few months. We visited her parents who have a Bosch with the 3rd rack. They also have extremely hard water, but the machine has a softener built in, and three years in they have no visible scale. It was also extremely quiet. It got run at night, and dishes were dry in the morning.

I finally decided to upgrade my dishwasher’s dishwasher, and I went with a Bosch Benchmark ( SHX89PW75N ). It’s pricey, and my current one isn’t bad, but the first reply here has two links, one for the 800 series, one for the Benchmark, and they found the Benchmark to be the King of Clean, but you’ll pay for it. If you’re considering an 800-series, they actually sort of steer you to the 500-series based on their cleaning results. Should be in in 1-2 weeks. I’ll try to remember to post something about it once it’s in, but having just used the same one, wife was super impressed with theirs (not sure if they had the 800 or the Benchmark, but I believe these are the only two that have the 3rd rack)

Eesh yeah it is. I went ahead and got a KitchenAid for about $700 (marked down from $900, not sure if it ever really sold for that much though). Installed it today and just finished the first run, gonna check the results in a bit once they're finished drying.

I put all whirlpool appliances in my home 7 years ago and I’ve replaced the oven and had the dishwasher repaired twice.

I got my first dishwasher last year and it’s a Bosch. Oh how I love it.

Get a Bosch. You won't regret it.

Update:
There was a delay on stock, but the machine came last week. My dishwasher shutoff valve broke in the process delaying me a little further and making install a bit more annoying, but nothing that was the dishwasher's fault.
As far as installing goes, I did not install the "clamps" yet, but it's pretty stable without them. I'll hopefully get to that next weekend.
One small point of unusualness: The "intake" hose is as large as the drain hose with a fairly large piece on it. It caused me to drill out an additional hole from where my old dishwasher was, but this was a ten-second job. Only point meant to be made was that this comes with a 3/8" --> whatever their sized intake is adapter that's about 8" long, not a standard 3/8" hose. The dishwasher actually ships with a hose-holder. I haen't "niced" up under the sink yet (because I haven't installed the clips just yet).

Anyways, the dishwasher did not come with the softening salt that I ordered. I hate talking on the phone and emailing customer service enough that I'm just going to buy it on Amazon. I do not know if it is loaded or not from the factory. I did not play with this setting.

But the two real important parts:
38dB. The dishwasher draining and hearing the garbage disposal gurgle is louder than the machine running. I can't hear it. Not that washing dishes was this unbearably loud sort of event before, but it's as close to dead silent from a room away as you'll get.
I don't know if it's the new sprayarms or the softener, but my wife was in absolute awe of how clean the baby bottles and their nipples were. Spot free and clear. Our coffee mugs (we use a french press) typically have a streak or two that needs a little extra love out of our old dishwasher- not so much anymore. Everything was clean, spotless.

I'm rushing to get the salt so I don't start scaling anytime soon, but I'm not dissapointed two loads into the Benchmark series of Bosch.

If it were me and we were planning, I'd probably go with a "lower" Benchmark model. Some have a front clock on them. Mine is top control. Some display the time on the floor (mine just has a red light). Mine has an interior light which is sort of...well...stupid. But the wife got what she wanted and is impressed.

I felt compelled to leave the review that I said I would give.

And now I sort of want to eat spaghetti and wait two days to wash the dishes just to really test the thing out.
