If you’re in the BR area-my neighbor owns Redstick refinishing. He specializes in fiberglass repair and tub restoration. Dependable and experienced. Check out his website/Facebook.

If it’s flexing it’s not properly supported and that caused the crack. ( I’m sure you already knew that) the way to properly fix it is to drill holes and fill with expending foam to creat a solid base and then stop the flexing. After that yes a fiberglass patch will hold up. The hardest part will be to be able match the current color.

Call your closest coburns or other major home supply place and they will have a good name to repair. Not a big deal. I’ve had to repair brand new ones on second floors. 2 hours of work and done by a good pro.

Your shower wasnt set right. Should be set on top of sheetrock mud or something to support thr btm. You will be chasing that crack till you finally decide to replace it or turn it into a closet and rip out that garden tub you dont use and put in a big walk in shower which is what I did.
