Dude just use bleach. I can't believe people are paying for trichlor pucks right now.

And if you truly need shock, not regular chlorine, again just use bleach.

This. I only use bleach. I buy the 3 pack of bleach jugs from costco. Folks here pointed me to troublefreepool when I built my pool and I'm forever grateful. My pool is crystal clear and i don't spend much money at all on it. I do keep some of the 'pucks' around for the rare event that I get a little low on my CYA. But other than that, I just add liquid bleach. My ph stays pretty level and I don't have to do much for it at all either.
