Calcium buildup on faucets

Aquaduct style faucets get serious calcium buildup on the bottom that will not come off with barkeepers friend, CLR and any amount of elbow grease. What say the H&G board. How can I get the stuff off? It is layered.

Wrap a towel around it and pour regular vinegar on the towel to saturate it and let it sit for a good while and see if that loosens it up.
I have hard water where I live and get mineral deposits on all my shower heads, spray attachment on the kitchen sink, etc. and soaking them in vinegar removes it fairly quick, but it is not built up like you are describing, so give it time.

After wrapping in vinegar and letting it sit, then removing the buildup, you need to install a whole house water softener. It'll keep it from happening again AND clean out the calcium buildup in your lines.

Will look into it. Thanks. I think my TDS on the taps is pretty high

CLR works like a champ

It does not unfortunately. Directions say to only leave it on there for three minutes. I don’t want to stain my Faucets

Use a sandwich baggie to soak it.
I tried to post a picture, but I haven’t figured out how to on the iPad

The towel is working but it is a slow process (over 12 hours). May try the baggie but the shape of it may prohibit that.

If it's as bad a buildup as you stated, then it is going to take time. Look how long it took to develop that buildup.

The baggie trick works. Use good tape and you can form it to any design needed

Use it on my stuff regular, put in plastic bag, dip faucet in and hold for 2-3 min and flush with water. Done and no problems at all ever.
