Bluebird house takedown question.

We have a bluebird house that has baby chicks in it.
The tree is dead and will be taken down in July.
Do I need to wait?
When will the baby bluebirds be ready to fly out of the house.?

If you can hear them they wont be there too long. Once you are sure they have left it is safe to take down as they wont come back to the box for any reason

I disagree. They can have more than one brood per season. They tend to use the same boxes over and over and cleaning out old nests in between broods is commonly recommended.
Try to get the house down as soon as possible after fledging or you will soon be right back where you started

I’m in the same situation. I can hear them chirping all day and now they are sticking their heads out of the box all day. I think it should be soon. First heard them 6/3/22

Eastern Bluebirds will not have another brood after June. After they fledge you will be fine. I would put up a pole mounted nestbox next February so they can nest again.

Well, I'm here to tell you we have our third hatch/brood now 07/26/22. this is in the same house, it's four if you count the other house. Maybe we just got some horny birds...

not what i meant. my point was that the fledged babies will no longer need that nest box and it is safe to clean at that point.
