Best thing to plant for privacy?

I have an area about 30 yards long in my back yard that we have cleared out. Looking for something to plant that would look good and not get too overgrown and give us a little bit of privacy from the house behind us. We aren’t allowed to put up a privacy fence, only a see through fence. Something that will grow about 8-12 feet tall and not very bushy with minimal maintenance.our backyard gets minimal sunlight. Something like a screening shrub. Thanks guys

Hmm, I was thinking sweet viburnum until you wanted not too bushy. Look it up, it grows fast, is inexpensive, blooms in spring, and has thick foliage.

Holly bushes grow pretty thick and don't require too much maintenance.

I just done hacking all mine down with a chainshaw. If you don't trim it every other month then vibernum gets out of hand very quick... at least it did along my fenceline

Green Giant Arborvitae:
-Will grow up to 3' per year until maturity.
-Darkens or bronzes slightly in the winter.
-Requires little or no pruning but can be sheared easily if necessary.
-Should be planted 5–6' apart for a screen or hedge.
-Is a public domain tree, meaning anyone can propagate it from cuttings.
-Has no serious disease or pest problems.

What about the minimal sunlight part? I have the same situation and was considering using your suggestion but I am concerned that it won’t get enough sun.

Cleyera will do well in sun or shade
