Looking to buy a couple pallets of St Augustine. Curious if anyone has purchased any lately. And what the cost was. TIA.

I’d find out what you want and go to an authorized farm or authorized dealer or farm. Will prob cost a little more and a lot further drive, but I’ve gotten wildly inconsistent product from the broker places.

I got 2 pallets from Woerner Turf on Airline Hwy in June. I think was about $700 delivered. Delivery fee was about 100-150, so half the remainder is the price per pallet for the sod.

Two years ago in Jan I bought two pallets St Aug from Woerner, and Samson Services raced a hard freeze to get it down. Later in March that year I bought a leftover pallet from Dee's Garden Center which a neighborhood guy put down after tilling. Both the rushed and the carefully done jobs look great now. This time of year, don't sweat how the sod looks. Just keep watered without over soaking (water every 3 days if no rain) and it will look great in the spring. Give it a good protective soak only if a hard freeze is predicted. Laying sod in So La winter is much less effort than in warm months.
Only extra advice is to buy a water-filled roller and press down any curled edges by hand every couple of weeks. It levels the ground, keeps contact with soil tight and is good cardio.
