Battery Powered Chainsaw - Enough Power?

Do cordless electric chainsaws provide enough power for cutting down smaller to medium sized trees and clearing out fallen pines? What do you see as their limitations?

Batteries dying if the job is too large for your stored energy capacity. This can be solved with having multiple sets of batteries, but it's not like you can just fill the tank like a gas powered saw.
As far as power, keep the chain sharp and a battery powered version cuts great for smaller to medium trees.
Batteries these days charge pretty darn quick too.

I have both gas and electric chainsaws. Electric can handle brush ok. But I wouldn’t take on a real job without my gas. Rpm’s are very different so speed to finish is dramatic.

What battery size are y’all using? I see Dewalt has a 20V and 60V.

Have the 20v Dewalt and it impressed the shite outta me. Bought to carry in my side by side to trim and cut small limbs at the camp but have cut 12” + trucks with it for shits and giggles and it didn’t miss a lick. Friend has The 16” and it’s even more impressive. Still go to my stihl for big jobs but for average work battery ones will be just fine

DO NOT even consider 20V for yard tools. Shop tools is another thing.

I just got another kobalt 40 volt. The one I had before my neighbor messed up and it started leaking chain oil. Took it back and got Lowes to give me another one. It works well for small stuff around the house.

I have the Greenworks 40 volt 16” with a 5 amp hour battery. It cuts anything my gas saw would, it works so well I got rid of the gas saw. Cutting firewood, I’m worn out long before the battery is out of juice.
