We've received a large amount of hand-me-down baby stuff (bottles, silicone bibs, etc.) including stuff that our child has outgrown. We've got enough to last for future children and want to find the appropriate way to donate these since it's very unlikely that we will have nieces/nephews that would benefit from these in the next couple of years.

Any suggestions in the Baton Rouge area on where to donate these? Would like to just drop off and go.

A local daycare may accept some of that.

Are you a member of a church? Most churches have an outreach program to help less fortunate families.

Church is a good place to start as they are usually plugged in. If you have a women’s shelter in the area they usually need those items. A lot of times they’ll get people who left with only what they could carry.

Maybe Women's Shelters that have mothers with babies living there.

Not sure if it's still a thing, but years ago there were homes for unwed mothers that catered to women who got pregnant out of wedlock and went there to have their babies to avoid some of the stigma attached to such things. Probably not so much today though.

It's been well over a year on this so if anyone is following I'll share what I learned:

bottles/pacifiers - ONLY unopened and unused
anyone will take toys and clothes

This, or one of those shelters for underprivileged families or youth shelters with girls who are pregnant.
