Are any of the solar spot lights worth a crap?

Looking to add some solar spotlights as uplights at the front of my house. Just looking for a quick and easy thing so don't want to go down the road of running wires just yet. Probably not staying in this house longer than another 2-3 years.

Something like this maybe?

you'll end up hitting them with a lawnmower, running over them or throwing so much grass & dirt onto the solar panel that it stops working.

every year i tell myself i will not be lured into buying shitty solar lights again and every year i seem to end up with some

i'm 0 for 100 on solar lights fwiw.

eta just saw the '2 or 3 years' part. go for it. they're all on clearance now at walmart & target so you picked the right time to shop. if you're lucky they'll last 2 years but you'll be paying like $5/apiece so your risk is nil.

Good thing about having the solar lights is, if power goes out at your house say after a bad storm, you can use the solar lights inside your house.

Everybody should keep a few on hand just for that.

I have a couple sets of solar lights up at my house, but they are more like spotlights mounted directly on the house, so no chance of damaging them with lawn equipment, pets peeing on them, etc.

They do work well though and as soon as someone or something comes into their motion detector range, they light up and as long as there is motion in the sensory range, they stay lit. If out of range, they stay lit for about 15 seconds and then shut down.
