Was told to just get the bags but would it save money buying in bulk from somewhere?

Why not? What’s the reason for not using it? Soft scape is over $14 a bag!

You will regret installing rubber mulch (except as a base for a kids play area). It never breaks down and raking it out of grass really sucks. It doesn’t retain moisture, prevent weeds or keep soil temperatures low. It does nothing a mulch is supposed to do because it isn’t mulch. It is garbage

It's only good for playgrounds, if that's what you intend to use it for.

I bought 2000 lbs for the kids playground years ago. It works great as a playground base, but it's even worse than having a pool under trees. There is no way to get the pine straw out. I just gave up.

Except in playground areas but be very careful of what you're putting in play zones. Too much evidence against using recycled tires as mulch and strong negative health correlations

The Evergreen brand Mini Pine Bark Nuggets at Lowes are the best. All other real pine bark mulch and nuggets that I have tried have sticks, leaves and other trash stuff in them. These mini nuggets are uniform, look great and are easy to spread around your plants.
