Anyone bought one of those 20ft inflatable movie screens setups on Amazon?

Thinking of having movie night for my daughters birthday in May.

Is this going to be an absolute disaster?

Need a trashiness rating as well.

MIL bought my son one couple years back. Used it once. The issue we had was the motor/fan used to inflate it is pretty loud so need to invest is a sound source that can be louder than it.
I think it's less trashy than hanging a white bed sheet up.

Have you looked at something like the Camp Chef OS144?

We have a Da Lite 120" screen that works for movie nights, both inside and outside.

I have this exact screen and used it a couple times so far. It works really well as long as there isn't a lot of wind (it does come with stakes and rope, but still). It seems to be made of pretty sturdy materials.

The last time I used it was at my daughter's elementary school for an outdoor Fall movie, and it was a huge hit. As another poster said, the fan is a little loud but I had 2 big speakers so no issues.

So you'd run a projector from your laptop or whatever?

Buddy of mine has one. Set it up by the pool. Kids thought it was awesome. Go for it.

It blows over easier, we ended up getting the metal pipe one and use it more often

We have friends with one and they have outdoor movie times a handful of times a year, it works great. As said you gotta make sure to secure it. There’s always a lot of little kids running around and routinely a cord gets tripped on or pulled on accidents so you may consider cord management.

thanks for the comment about blower noise and it getting knocked over in the wind.

I'm in windy City Nashville so the metal frame will probably be the way to go.

I'm on a hillside so have pretty consistent wind. Secure is a must and even that metal frame can get pulled out of the ground. Still cool though.

I bought some Chinese portable projector that had great specs and a good tripod and it works great. Of course, make sure you have good outside WiFi coverage which I'm sure you do.

Movie night is easier in spring or fall when the sun is down earlier and weather is still good.

ETA: I just realized the size of that thing. that would be a hazard with wind.

Wemax Dice

I got it on sale over a year ago for about $500 and the space is getting more competitive so there may be better options out there now. Plus, you may be more comfortable with a bigger brand.

I have the blow up screen and love it.

As far as projectors go, money equals brightness. The less you spend, the darker it will have to be outside to see the display.
