Anybody transplanted a crepe myrtle "sucker"

My MIL has a crepe myrtle at her house that I would like to transplant a piece of at my own house. After some googling it looks like crepe myrtles will sometimes produce small sprouts at the base of the plant called "suckers". Apparently, you can dig these up by the root and transplant.
Anybody on here done this and had success?

Yup, using that method, I have 2 in my front yard that look a little something like this here:

Crepe Myrtles need very little root material (if any). They literally grow in cracks in my cement

I have done it successfully several times.

It works with cuttings off the end of a branch too.
Just strip off the leaves a few inches from the cut end and stick it in a garden and water it

I've planted crepe myrtle suckers numerous times successfully.
Consistent wih what you stated, I always dug them with whatever roots I could easily manage to retain on the suckers.
Also, FWIW, I usually planted them at a depth of about 12 to 18 inches in the ground and within a time frame beginning around the onset of the fall and ending around late winter.
