When I read the OP I thought I could weigh in. Been tending to 2 acres of yard and 25+ acres of land. But dang if I ever thought anyone would buy new shoes, and especially tennis shoes for yard work. Are you in SanFrancisco? Or Metairie? SMH. I’d buy your used yard shoes for a Couples Shower if I ever go to one.

My feet feel best barefoot in the yard. I just finished cutting grass barefoot.
That's my go-to. I have a fairly large backyard vegetable garden and work in it at least every other day before things get going and every day when things need picking and fussing with.
I do all that work barefooted. I don't have any dogs, so dog crap in the yard is not a concern and when I do my yard work-----cutting, edging, cleaning up----I do this barefooted also.
Hose the feet off prior to heading upstairs back in the house and no dirty shoes to contend with.

To me, a yard shoes is basically a closed toe flip flop with socks. Esy on and off is crucial.
Old pair of hey dudes by every door of my house. They are great for this.

Problem with crocs is that fire ants charge right through the holes.
