Any Experiences with Ortho Weed Clear?

I bought a bottle of the ortho weed clear that you attach to a garden hose. It claims to clear 250 weeds in less than 5 hours without harming grass. I live in SELA with a mix of centipede and Bermuda (Bermuda has rapidly taken over by back yard)

If it sounds too good to be true….

It is the exact same as Fertilome's weed free zone just with water.

So is that a good thing? Don’t want to ruin my lawn, just want to get rid of all the clovers and other weeds I don’t know the name of. My yard is a mess! Always super hesitant to treat my yard these days with two very active pups

Yes it’s a good thing - as Fertilome WZF or equivalent is a good lawn herbicide. Just make sure you follow label directions. And don’t expect to see “dead” weeds in 5 hours, depending on weeds sprayed, may be a week or 2. Patience is required for lawn weed control.
The dogs will be fine - might want to keep them off the lawn until the herbicide dries - maybe an hour or 2.

Awesome, thank you! What do you suggest, and when do you suggest, I spray feed?

Do a granular fert instead of liquid. As temps rise you can very easily give your grass tip burn.

Okay awesome! What kind of granular fertilizer then?

For general purposes, it’s hard to go wrong with any 10-10-10 or 13-13-13.

Site One is going to have some good options. 16-0-8 or 16-0-4 or 25-3-5 for St Aug or centipede. Something in the 30% N range for bermuda.

If I apply the weed clear today, when should I apply the fertilizer

Same day, tomorrow, when you have time. They mutually exclusive

I’ve had good results with it but this thread taught me it’s the same as WFZ. Never knew that before.

I've had positive experiences with Ortho Weed B Gone. Adding a wee bit of ammonium sulfate seems to create better and quicker results.

I just used this product and it killed everything but my grass. Also it rained like 2 hours after I applied it and it still worked
