I think I will go and get some of those tablets shortly. I am sure I need to clean the condenser coil, so I will get some of that spray cleaner as well.

I had exact situation last week. I plunged the drain with my finger a few times and it drained. The float valve was shutting it off.

I’ll tell on my age here, but I once replaced my batteries in an upstairs thermostat without my glasses on. I set the unit to 77 because I never went up there. About 2 weeks later I went up and no air. Hot as all get out. Thermostat was on and set, I had put one of the batteries in upside down. The thermostat worked fine but didn’t activate the unit. Didn’t know that was possible until I got an AC guy out there. He told me it happens quite often (probably to make me feel better) but it is possible. I know this wasn’t the problem here but it’s worth noting.

You'll have to report back on how long the battteries stand up to the attic heat. I would guess they suffer quite a bit but maybe not.

I dont have the leak detectors but thats a good idea. I do have the YoLink temp/humidity sensors in 2 freezers which has saved me on 2 different occasions. 1 from a GFCI outlet that tripped in my garage, the other from the door being cracked open.

To your point, I had concerns with the batteries lasting in a freezer but they lasted I believe around 2 years. Highly recommend and will look into the leak detectors too.
