2020 GMC Canyon advice

Looking at purchasing a 2020 canyon V6 with 137,000 miles. $15 K.
One owner, one minor accident per the Carfax. Looks like owner did their own service, no records.
What do you think?
I’ve heard of transmission issues. If bought, should I get serviced/flushed/etc.?

Whatever vehicle you own do not do this. Just drain it and refill x3 times, driving around the block in between each. The power flushing they do just stirs up particulates that will do more harm than good.

that year is the 8 speed right? I think those are the ones needing torque convertor replacements.

My buddy has a covid silverado (2020). He's had some small issues here and there. I don't think anything engine or trans issues, but other little small things.

Businesses generally will not service a transmission with that many miles on it…..most people only bring in transmissions when they begin to have problems.
But to answer your question, I would absolutely change fluid and filter. Get a shade tree to do it or do it yourself.

Own a 2018 Canyon. Transmission bad. I took the gamble and got it rebuilt. About $3500 repair vs a $7000 replacement. It’s been great otherwise, but wish I knew about the transmission issues bf I bought it. Would’ve gone in another direction.
