Chance of frost Tuesday and Wednesday. Looks like I'll have to wait another week.

Typical. I’ll have to cover my plants. They should be ok as long as I do that.

Hopefully this will be the last bit of cold we have. I prepped all my beds yesterday. Tomatoes will go in the bags as soon as it warms up. Hopefully Thursday.

Peppers will go in their spots this weekend probably.

I just did the same thing. This is bullshite. I swear, if you wait, the temps reach 90 degrees by mid-March. Plant early and it will freeze without fail EVERY FREAKING TIME.

You'd think we'd eventually wise up and just go to the damn farmer's market.

Just planted my first ever blueberry plants. Two in total. I've been itching to do so for a while. Was at HD yesterday and saw they had some Ochlockonee Rabbit Eye variety in stock, so I got two in 4" containers.

Planted them without checking the weather first

Oh well I'll cover them the next two nights. I have them planted 6 feet apart on a single row I made in the back yard. I amended the soil and planted them in a good acidic mix then covered the row with pine bark mulch after watering.

I've got larger plants on the way. I ordered 4 more plants from Stark Brothers and they should be here by the 21st of March. These will be more established plants in 1 gallon containers.

Should've waited until I saw what the weather was going to do before I planted the two I just bought, but I was excited and caught up in the moment

We got down to 22 in Dallas last night and probably the same tonight. But then we get a quick warmup and I will probably get tomatoes in the ground and cover them if we get another freeze. It gets too hot too early in the season here so if I don't get the tomatoes going now I probably won't get much out of them.

I'm going to do the same thing in Fort Worth. Everything will probably get going next weekend as long as the nurseries aren't all sold out.

I planted two blackberry bushes a couple of years ago and neglected them last year and lost them. Had too many irons in the fire so hopefully this year will be different and going forward.

I got seeds y-day for Cherokee Heirloom tomatoes and will get them planted probably when I get home. Way too cold here to even think about getting anything in the garden.

it was 19 last night and will be about that tonight.

We normally plant right around Easter though it's later this year.

In a few weeks I'll clean out the chicken coop and put that in the garden.

I put 3tbsp of Tomato Tone, and 2 tbsp of Epsom salt and bone meal. Did that in the fall in each hole, and it worked great. Mine are in containers so I liquid fertilizer them every couple of weeks with this organic stuff called Texas Tomato Food. It’s got calcium in it. I didn’t have any blossom end rot in the fall.

I do this plus some good compost from my pile. I've always wanted to try fish heads but never have any laying around when I plant.
