Why was my avatar deleted after 3 years?

It says it's a copyright violation, but a lot of other people have "copyrighted" pics as their avatars. Did someone complain? Just curious.

My avatar disappeared. I looked under "settings" to see what was up and saw this message in red:

He may have gotten the notice from the website that originally posted the pic he was using.
I had that happen once with a photo of Father Tutchem I was using. I had to find another one. Broke my heart.

I had one that was removed as 'inappropiate' after being up for about 3 years.

I remember losing mine in the great avatar purge a while back. It was quickly returned once the rouge admin was corralled.
Could of been sig pic and not avatar, but you get the idea.

Since chicken is in this thread both my sig and avi are gone and I own the picture of my dog and used the jerry Jeff walker pic online

Was anyone here with missing pics using imageshack?
Cuz I was, had it for years. A while back, they wanted me to upgrade...tech term meaning pay for it...and I never did.
Today, my account and saved pics are gone with the wind.
Maybe this is part of the missing avys/sig pics mystery?

I think Imageshack is behind these missing pics. I moved mine to Imgur when I saw that Imageshack wanted me to pay for uploading more pics a while back. Just tried visiting the site and discovered that it's down, I can't log in at all.

Imageshack is back up, and I was able to log in to my old account. All of my old pics are still there, but it won't let me upload new ones without "upgrading". Can't directly link them either, so I switched to Imgur.
