This site is way behind on several fronts. The last big add on was the "like" button which was old before they even implemented it. A reputation system, an ignore feature, easier image hosting, a dislike feature....these are all things TD needs work on.

How do other sites make it easier? I don't see how uploading your picture to td.com would be any easier than uploading it to imageshack/photobucket/whatever and pasting the link here.

The only reasonable suggestion.
Sites like imageshack, photobucket, et al. exist because image hosting is ridiculously burdensome to a server. As an administrator, one must weigh the convenience of first-party services vs. the convenience of quick loading times.
To allow image hosting here because using imageshack takes 3 extra minutes would be a horribly impractical decision.
