Plain and simple, people hate the soccer board and soccer because America doesn't rape at it
No, because when someone who asks a question I get responses like:
quote:
you also don't have the intelligence to realize that football is mostly people stopping and measuring shite and think sitting in a stand waiting for 5 hours for one buck to be shot at is exhilarating.
And...
quote:
All in all, go suck a chode and enjoy your sport while I enjoy mine.
Yet, I deal with tards talk about "going golfing" and their 300+ yard drives all the time without being an elitist prick.

Looks like you have a pass to be one now... Run with it!

i'm not necessarily defending this: "being an elitist prick," but have you ever had to deal with someone that suggests that the us open should be played at a putt-putt course because the scores would be lower?

At the risk of bringing on the wrath of the Soccer-tards, would it be so hard to just stop and start the clock during stoppages of play like they do in, say, EVERY OTHER SPORT ON THE PLANET WITH A CLOCK?
I'm a big soccer fan, and I'm all for that. But ONLY for injuries towards the end of the game. It would eliminate situations where teams fake injuries to run out the clock. That would piss off alot of soccer purists though, even though it makes a ton of sense.

Go soccer and go America.

lets just knock off all the soccer shite. clearly everyone has polarizing opinions and these debates always get heated.
i dont get why people who do not like soccer feel the need to let everyone else know how boring a sport they think it is.

I like the clock as is, makes soccer unique, for some reason I prefer the uniqueness to the same thing as every other sport.

If you don't want to know the score, then why do you look on the board?
Unlike the CWS, there are a ton of leagues that we follow. EPL, La Liga, SPL, Ligue 1. Transfers. Euros.
Can't turn off the board.

Terrible argument to what is at hand. Someone who didn't watch the match asked for a brief summary and got a bunch of dick responses.
If someone asked me for a summary of the final round of the Masters, I'd just tell them what happened not OMGZ just watch the match!!!!

Troof.
It's not so much soccer fans don't want others to become fans, it's that they hate it when people try to tell them that the game needs to be changed.
Taking away goalies
More substitutions
bigger goals
use hands (I heard this one during world cup)
smaller fields
do away with offsides
etc.
Instead of learning about the game, they want to change it. That annoys me too. It's hard to explain rules to someone who keeps interrupting you to tell you they need to be changed.

Did I ever say this? I just asked for a summary.

I like it for the same reasons, but it's incredibly frustrating watching players fake injuries as the clock winds down in close matches. Stoppage time doesn't seem to make up the time wasted in those situations.

That was a more general statement than directed towards you. The problem is that if you played 18 this morning and started a thread about it, you wouldn't have people constantly coming in to tell you how shitty your sport is and how everyone who plays and enjoys it likes to buttfrick guys. And on TD, where guys sit around queering each other and their choice of shorts or sunglasses like a show on the E! Network, it's like a contest to see which douchebag with an over-inflated ego can shite on the sport.

It's posts like yours that make average onlookers assume that everyone that follows soccer is a pretentious douchebag.
