Point of PM with No Response Field?

I was banned recently for alluding to spoilers in a GoT thread. It wasn't a real spoiler but that doesn't matter- I'm just grateful to be given the chance to be back. Thank You.
But I got this message as a PM while banned. "Are you posting spoilers in a GoT thread?" with no ability to respond.
So I sat there looking at this PM for nearly two months with no way to answer. I sent emails that were never answered with a response to the PM. Ignored.
I must ask. Why. Why is there no way to respond.
