If liked posts stay at the top of the thread under the OP, I'll like this feature a lot. If we just like posts, then IDK how useful it will be. Maybe once post dislikes are added, get 10 dislikes and that post be automatically removed.. that'd be cool too.

I can't believe you people are bitching about a stupid little thumbs up button. Well, I can, cause there's a lot of crybabies on this site. Anyway, if you don't like the thumbs up button, don't use it. It's not like it's prohibiting you from posting and reading other posts. Grow the hell up.

It's barely larger than the RA button. One guy had to ask where it was in a thread earlier. It just kills me how the admins try to make slight changes on here and people get all pissy about it. I guess we should remove the emoticons while we're at it.

It's a solid feature, but it needs to function well with the "featured replies" section.
So in threads such as the JJ bar fight thread, that go on for 200 pages, those who post solid information will likely receive upvotes, which will enhance the visibility of their post.

After thinking about WHY I don't like it I think I've figured it out. It forces me to be aware of a disparity.
Kind of like a view count for threads. All that does is make you aware of how many more people are reading the thread vs posting in it.
With the like button I'm made aware of not how many people actually like a post, I'm made aware of how many people TOOK THE TIME to hit a like button. There's a difference.
Having to read posts that make perfect sense and have no one 'like it' because they didn't take the time to hit a button will get old fast, especially with the amount of people who read and post here.

oh, ok. that's really my only concern. i suppose if lurkers want to sign up just to press like there's not much we can do about that.
