re: Is it just me, or are posters starting more golf threads...

How about this. Have a "Big Leagues Board"
Now we're talking about adding boards.. Over the golf issue. The best solution to the problem, if you're adding boards, is to just add the golf board.

One option is to create on the MSB what has been done to the SEC rant. Have links to different sports and allow threads to be tagged accordingly
I really think you may have something here.

That's where I think you are incorrect. If you are going to add a board, why on earth would you add a board to appease a small, albeit vocal, group? They aren't going to provide anywhere near the traffic necessary to warrant their own board. There would be a brief celebration, a spike, then a swift decline in traffic as topics are discussed umpteen times already.
What I'm talking about is to turn the MSB into a "Big Leagues Board", thus satisfying all the other major sports not serviced by other boards already, and then adding a hobby board. This could satisfy all the amateur sports and hobbies.
If you are going to add ANY board to address this issue, instead of adding golf to the soccer board, then this is the way to go, IMHO.

I think the more vocal group has been the people complaining about golf threads on all the boards

I would imagine they would get as much play as several of the current boards. Its not such a heavily debated topic for no reason.

hmmm sounds much like a lot of our current boards

Ok, the names of the boards is all semantics at this point.

The pro-Golf board people have been vocal by starting many of the golf threads for the sole purpose of forcing Chicken's hand into creating a golf board. They even admit they are doing it for that reason in most of the threads.

I don't understand why people are so butthurt over this
It's a slow time in sports right now, and that's why theres such a large proportion of golf threads.
Not to mention I think some posters are doing it bc you guys seem to care so much
They know it gets under your skin

Playing at Copper Mill this afternoon in a threesome with another slow threesome in front of us; finish putting out on 17 and walking back to the cart when a guy (single) comes across from behind 16's tee and tees off on 18.
So now we have to wait twice for both groups to clear. I've got 260 into the green into the wind and hit a high 3 wood about 15 yards short of the green but near where the cutter is waiting (yes he hit into the group originally in front of us).
The cutter then parks his cart on the fringe, putts out and heads down the fairway towards us.
He starts yelling about me "hitting into him" and not respecting members. I reminded him that he played through without asking and parked his cart up next to the green.
His response: "I'm a member, I can do whatever I want on my course."
We go into the bar and he's still complaining and won't acknowledge that he cut us off or hit into the other group. I'm laughing the entire time and he just keeps on ranting.
Apparently the GM was going to talk to him and the bar staff said he's typically like this.
I know CSB.

What about a recreational sports board? It seems like that would remove the clutter from the other boards and it would encompass a lot more than just golf... Like your awesome pick-up b-ball stories.

Something needs to be done, and I don't think these golf pansies should be rewarded for this behavior with an unnecessary board. I vote to start deleting the threads and issuing warnings that eventually lead to banishment

Golf threads should get the religious threads treatment.
