ipod question

This is not board related but I just bought an ipod and I can't seem to recharge it on the USB port on my computer. Any ideas why it may have gone dead? Thanks.

I assume so since the tower is on and it recharged my wife's ipod last week.

Sometimes if it gets really dead you have to leave it connected for an hr or so first to charge it high enough to show that its being charged.

does it acknowledge that the ipod is hooked up on the comp? if not you might need to install itunes again.

No lights go on when it's hooked up.
I left it connected for 2 days...it's dead as a doornail.

Well, I just charged the wife's ipod so why didn't the driver problem prevent that? I'm starting to think it's my specific ipod that is defective.
We all can't have as unique a name as you. In fact, you've inspired me. I may change my name to "LSU person."

How does one do that? I never loaded any software on my ipod to begin with. I just gave it to the wife and said load up these songs. She did the same thing she does with her ipod.
