Mods, what the hell is going on lately with new users on Tiger Rant?

Ever since I noticed an obvious alter with the “BR media is a cult” threads, I’ve been paying attention to who has been posting negative threads.

It’s always the same thing:
- New user, registered within the past month, starts multiple negative topics.
- In some cases, the user posts the same topic on multiple boards (e.g. tRant and RB) or the same board on different days.
- Topics include: thinly veiled shots at certain players, suggestions that players should transfer, NCAA sanctions, Title IX, “can Coach O survive,” etc.

I’m not normally one to have conspiracy theories but I’ve seen at least one obvious alter (the guy with the “is BR media a cult?” threads under multiple user names) and at least 6-7 more incidents of brand new posters concern trolling. In many cases the thread winds up getting deleted.

I’m not saying we need to censor all negative topics on tRant. But it sure seems suspicious that almost all of these concern troll threads are from BRAND NEW users.

Am I crazy or has anyone else noticed this? Are we being infiltrated?

OK. The first two are the ones that made me start getting suspicious:












Two posters registered a day apart and both asked the same question about BR media. One started three threads about BR media in 5 days. Other topics these two touched on:
- LSU’s record next year (they predict it will be bad)
- Coaches need to go
- [insert QB] is not going to cut it / should transfer






























I’m not saying all of these are alters. It’s certainly reasonable to think the number of new posters with a negative view towards the staff would be higher after a 5-5 season. I’m just saying it seems odd that whenever I see the same thread posted I look and it’s another brand new user.

There were also a bunch of other threads that I’ve seen get deleted. I dunno, maybe I’m losing it.

If you allow alters, you may as well not have any rules. Somebody could violate a well-established rule, get banned by the admins, and just come back as an alter. It hurts his business model. Don't be a dumbass.

It was a rhetorical question because it happens all the time. I'm starting to think the admins like the clicks, so they let it slide.

Or you can get banned for no reason of your own. Sometimes the admins give no warning or reason.

Just, bam, you gone.
