Anybody know anything about plumbing? When I use my washing machine, and it goes into the drain mode, the water starts backing up in my sink. It also now comes out below the sink, onto my kitchen floor .

I'm trying to take off the main plug outside of the house, but can't get it completely out. Was going to run hose back in and try to flush it out.

Stuck and frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing a slab foundation?

Yep.

This is the plug outside I'm trying to get off. Got it almost out, just can't get it to come all the way out.

I have to confess, though. I also brought my question to the lunch thread to get some traffic.

But thanks for your kind words. I just wanted to come clean and not accept undeserved praise.

It appears that you might be pulling the clean out pipe with the plug - looks to be rusted into the pipe itself. I would try to put a pipe wrench on the pipe that came out and then another on the square top of the plug. If your house is over 25 years old, might have to break into slab if drain pipe is rusted through.

Your smug sense of superiority is clogging your pipes.

If you cant get the outside cleanout off Pull the washing maching out and get a long push tape and shove it through. Longer the tape the better may need to pull the piping off under the sink and do the same there.

Good luck. Septic problems suck.

Go to Home Depot.

Rent a 50' rooter.

Remove your clean-outs, and run the rooter through the pipes.

Sounds like a blockage somewhere. If this doesn't fix it then you may have a break under the foundation.

But to rent the rooter is like $40 to pay Roto Rooter is $250.
