Frankly, I don't know a single female that would ever even think the word let alone say it. It's vile - pure and simple.
I've said it. I've thought it even more.
Is it kinda derogatory? Offensive to some? Slightly inappropriate? Sure.
Can it be funny at times? Can it work its way into some dirty talking once in a while? Is it that wild card you throw into an argument when some stupid bitch won't shut up? Absolutely.
I believe these points prove that the pros clearly outweigh the cons.
Let count live.

I will say every woman I know (minus two of my friends) hates the word. I see it a no more offensive than bitch.
But honestly, I love saying it. count. Not you, just needed to say it.
You, like many women, have a fit when they get called it. But I still don't understand why it's so effective.
I think it's very powerful to be able to embrace a word you hate and own it. You don't have to say it, but you can make sure you're not bothered by it.

What crawled up your arse? Because I use the word count?

I'm an American, a damn proud American.
And I'll spell that word the way it was meant to be spelled in America by Americans for Americans.
I spell it: T-I-G-E-R-P-R-I-N-C-E-S-S
I may have slipped on occasion and mistakenly called my fraternity a frat.
But I will never call my country a TigerPrincess.

Nada, my impression of you on here is just different now. I guess I thought you were a better person than what you demonstrated yesterday.

I didn't. I have trash-radar.

It's a message board woman, we don't really know eachother.
A "better person", that's funny, again, I can promise you-- I'm not a better person than you think.
Again, it's a message board, you're taking this far too seriously.

I have a hard time respecting any woman that doesn't mind being called the c word.

Nah, not taking it too seriously. I just figured you were a pretty cool poster. Poster being the word to notice. I should of put that in my original post. Now, honestly, you just seem trashy.
To me the c word is just a low down, disgusting insult. You may have some Eve Enseler motive to take it back. Cool. It's not for me, and IMO it's a shame when it's okay with other people to use.
I'm out with this one though. I rarely get involved in these e discussions.

Why?
It's like me being called a cocksucker by someone else. Does it offend me? No...because i know i don't suck cock.
If count offends you...does that mean that your are actually a count IRL? Obviously Bohdi doesn't think she's a count IRL and therefore the word doesn't bother her.
I believe the old saying "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me" fits quite well in this thread.
Unless you allow count to offend you...it's only a word
But that's IMO...and we all know that doesn't count

This might be the root cause of the problem in this case.

I thought so too. If that's the case then the bannage would be pretty epic. Hell, 90% of the OT was dropping the c word yesterday.
Posted on 9/10/09 at 10:51 am to TexasTiger05
It is likely not in the site's best interest to ban 90% of the posters for something that isn't that big a deal on a message board.
