Those of you eating ‘protein bars’ might as well just eat a snickers and drink a protein shake instead. The bars are full of hidden sugars and artificial ingredients.

There is no nutritional value in them and they are composed of cheap proteins and garbage ingredients to make them 'taste good'. Just eat a Snickers or a Milky Way and wash it down with a shake and you will get same end result.

I eat them, but Ron is right, they’re certainly not “health foods”

If you’re going to eat that shite, might as well just eat what you like

Ron’s lost the plot if he thinks doubling the calories for the same amount of protein will “achieve the same result”, especially day in and day out. I already said that healthy means different things to different people, and asked what the goal is. I work with guys like OP and he’s probably shopping at the gas station most of the time, and to lose weight decent macro protein bar is gonna be worlds better than a honey bun and a full calorie monster. Are there better options? Sure, but he’s not gonna pack an ice chest every day to have them.

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t think that and he never said that, you just assigned him that argument out of thin air

Specifically what is 'horsehit' about what I am saying?

The lengths people will go to on here to justify their bad habits especially when it comes to diet and nutrition is amazing to me.

I had one of these “protein bars” last night because I had an event straight after when I went to the gym and all I had time to do was stop at the gas station on the way. I ate it, and I’m alive and well today, no biggie.

But I also know it wasn’t the best thing I’m going to put in my body this week

No, Ron hasn't lost the plot. Ron is 6'3 218 to 220 depending on how much fluid I consume a day with a 31" waist. I'm not on here telling people to snack on protein bars because they are totally worthless.

I said or mentioned no such thing.

This is how god damn dumb you are and since you brought up 'calories'
Regular Snickers bar - 250 calories
Transparent Labs Protein bar - 280 Calories
And I can assure you very few people on here are eating a Transparent Labs protein bar they are probably eating something like Quest or Pure Protein which are absolute garbage. They are all garbage even a 'premium' one like Transparent Labs.

I work with guys

I sure a frick hope not with advice like you are giving out.

Not talking about you Mingo. I know you know what you are doing. What I'm talking about is the culmination of all the posts we see on here week in and week out with the fatties trying to justify their bad habits, bad diets, etc. as ok and no big deal so they can continue to practice bad habits.

So just to clarify you suggest eating Snickers and Milky Ways over protein bars?

I've tried to probe this, and all I get is "fiber is not necessary". No explanation as to why. This is the opposite of being well thought out
