What does everybody think about Bulk Supplements? And what to look for in an Omega-3 sup.

I just ran out of my Omega-3 from Sports Science. 1250 mg/serving. Wild caught Alaskan Pollock. Seemed like really good bang for the buck, but y’all got another company you like better?

in general you would be correct. many people need to understand that you should supplement with supplements to correct items that show up on a blood test that you are not able to correct naturally.
for example, many get low vitamin D in the winter no matter how good our diet is just from lack of sun exposure. thats when you supplement.
but he is asking abotu omega-3 which can help health if diet is not spot on. i dont think it does a ton though to be honest, but prolly still worth it with how cheap they are.

What say you about bioavailability of supposed dosage amounts?

My confirmation bias thanks you, as that's the only one I take.

my opinion is most are shite to be honest. now basics like protein, creatine come in high quality. fish oil is very rare to find good quality actually. most vitamins have shite bioavailability in general imo unless from whole foods.

Buy liquid fish oil from vitacost. So much cheaper for the same dosage than pills/capsules.

Carl what are you trying to accomplish with the fish oil?

I use transparent labs bulk supplements for anything I can (which is only creatine at this point). Very reasonably priced.

I'm looking for a new omega 3 as well.
Trying to get 1000mg of EPA (anti depressant) and 300mg of DHA (can potentially help with ADHD)
High EPA dose seems hard to find, but finding some on Thorne that have some high doses. LINK
Has anyone bought from here before?
I'm working on putting together a stack to help with focus. Andrew Huberman had a podcast on ADHD recently and I'm all in.

ADHD & How Anyone Can Improve Their Focus
It's long..but there are timestamps on the link. I'm trying to put together a stack. My ADHD has been really bad to the point of where I won't act all unless pressure is put on me.
Going to be committed to a few things he talked about in this pod including the meditation practice and supplementation to see if I can get my career and productivity tracking upwards again. Obviously strength training and increased exercise levels have started to help as well.

Carl what are you trying to accomplish with the fish oil?
Heart health, mainly.
I’ve got stomach issues that occasionally leave me dehydrated. Sometimes I get so bloated that it’s almost impossible to drink enough water and keep it down. Not eating for a day helps more than anything, and I’ve been reading about how beneficial autophagy through fasting is, so I started trying to do a Monk Fast every Monday. Eat dinner Sunday around 6 or 7, don’t eat at all Monday, then break your fast Tuesday whenever you need or want to. I think it’s supposed to be at least 36 hours, but I never eat breakfast, so I usually do 42-48 hours.
Well, I woke up last Tuesday with the worst cotton mouth I’ve ever had in my life, and my voice was so weak I could barely speak. I knew I was dehydrated, so I drank a Pedialyte and went to a clinic to get an IV bag. I’ve had to do this 4 or 5 times over the past few years, which I know is terrible, but I wasn’t particularly worried. Until they weighed me. I was 186 (I’m 6 ft). The Friday prior (4 days) I weighed 201. They wouldn’t even see me, sent me straight to the ER. Took some blood and gave me 2 IV bags. After the 2nd, doc comes out and says they want to admit me. My creatinine was high and my potassium was really low, so they wanted to monitor me until they leveled out. Stayed 24 hours before they released me.
Scared me a bit. I’m 44. People my age die. And I wasn’t particularly good to my heart (or entire body, really) in my 20s and early 30s. Going this afternoon to get a full blood panel (I know my cholesterol numbers weren’t good last time I checked, but can’t remember the numbers). So besides what the doctor wants me to do, I figured I can at least take Omega-3s and CoQ10 supplements if they help even the tiniest bit.
And now I realize just how important electrolytes are always, but especially during a fast. Curious if my doc just tells me to shut that fasting shite down altogether. Hope not. Cause the irony is, as terrible as my body felt that day in just about every way, my stomach felt better than it has in probably a decade.

why dont you wait and see what blood work shows and what doctor says before jumping on the omega 3. there is also a script omega that may be better for you too.
