Sample day:
First bite 11AMish: 2 cucumbers, a red pepper and a handful of tomatoes.
Snack: drink a cup of pickle juice (flavor/bite provides some satiety + electrolytes)
"Meal": 6PMish - some cold cuts, strawberries, handful of popcorn.
I'm 8 days in and have lost ~5 lbs.

I don't know what this is, but it didn't look good. Not much protein and the one you gave isn't very good.
I've been on essentially meat and fruit for the most part. I've lost about 10 lbs of fat and feel great overall.
I'm down in New Orleans right now and won't feel bad to rest some junk knowing I'll get back to my normal diet next week.

I think everyone should do a 24 hour fast about once/week
I do it every 4 days on my rest/cardio day, i.e., push, legs, pull, fast. I treat the other 3 days as if I was bulking. Been working well for me. I cut my grass on my fast day to burn done extra fat. My lawn looks great and I been adding pounds while my waist has simultaneously been shrinking.
I do, however, find in incredibly difficult to fast on the weekend. So when my fast day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, I do a carnivore day instead.

would guess I haven't had more than 700 calories on any of the days, and likely less than 500 on several. I'll go about another 2 weeks and be done.
And gain it all back in 2 weeks? Sounds miserable

Listen, the 7 meal a dayers, the keto guys, the weigh all you food nuts hate on IF. The fact is, find what works for YOU! I personally chose IF because I feel better fasted, I eat cleaner (my body doesn’t want sugar and a load of carbs), I sleep better and I just easier for me to not eat. Plus, the shite works, I’ve seen it too many times. My personal fav is OMAD but if I break that I do a min of 18hrs with a 4-5hr feeding window. Throw in a “cheat day” once a week and your good. If you stop seeing results it’s in your intake or your burn, simple fixes. And, you absolutely can maintain your muscle mass while fasting, if done correctly.
This, main thing is structure. Something you can stick to. IF is great for me because i naturally skip breakfast. I normall eat first meal at 11 (2 boiled eggs, protein shake) work out at 3:30. Eat supper around 5 which is normally 12oz ground turkey with onions, peppers, kale. And some grean beans and squash. Then a protein bar at 6. Im never hungry

Honestly, I think it's better to exercise and eat right, rather than starve.
