I’ve been with this ortho for a while.
We did an MRI over a year ago and it was low grade tendonosis and some other things. I was headed to a Crossfit comp in Miami and we did a cortisone shot the first time. The knee felt good for a while. I was in his office again a year later and we talked about other treatments and he recommended PRP but I was headed to another major comp so we did a second cortisone injection.
I decided to give PRP a try and did it mid November. The major pain I was dealing with has subsided nearly completely 6 weeks later, and he said full effects would take about 12 weeks. I still have some issues that I hope will clear up over the next 6 weeks.
He did say that a 2nd injection is an option if the first one did not fully alleviate all symptoms.
The ortho I see usually alternates with 1-2 others as the guy during LSU football games on the sideline.

You can do it yourself I wouldn’t recommend it but it’s not that complex
