I own a pair. Don't buy them to run in. They are sweet casual shoes though and a great deal. Thanks, man.

Welp, the release we’ve all been waiting for:

World Athletics Ruling on Shoes

Vaporfly and plated shoes are here to stay, but limited to one plate on one plane and stack height no higher than 40mm. So Alphafly is now dead for competitive use. Shoes also must be available to the public for a period of 4 months beginning April 2020. So Saucony and NB may have to push the release of their plated shoes to be eligible for the Olympics.

This is a really good opportunity for the other shoe companies to make a splash with their marathon competitors. Time to release your shoes guys! Looking at you Skechers!

As you can see, Skechers still hasn't learned how not to print in big dumbass letters "speed" on them but I don't care. I just want them to take my money! Give me the damn shoes Sketchers! You have the April loophole give us the shoes! Damn.

LOL I’d honestly prefer the “SPEED” to their normal S logo. Not a bad looking shoe, also like the looks of their new trail shoe.

I recall seeing they are planning to release them “around February 2020.”

So been interacting with some of the fine folks at Believe in the Run on FB and regarding the AlphaFly, Nike reps have said “no comment”. Current thinking is Nike did not or will not use the 3 plates believe to be in the shoe and will just shave down the stack height a bit. Soooo looks like Nike will keep on keepin on.

Have we discussed Atreyu Running on here yet? Been following it for a couple months now. The Believe in the Run guys interviewed the founder today - had no clue the guy is from Lake Charles.

Anyway, this guy decided to design his own shoe with a subscription type business model. Shoes are pretty minimal and don’t look bad at all. Getting great reviews from everything I’ve seen.

Only comes in whole sizes. 9 is too small 10 is way too big. Every time they have an opportunity to gain some ground in a big way, they frick it up. Looks like it's alpha flys for NYC. I really wanted to be in Skechers instead.

Have you tried any of the Skechers? I wear 9.5 in all my running shoes except the Razor 3. I have to wear a 10.

Think I’ve heard the sizing is off (same as Razor 3) on the Speed Elites. You could probably try half size up and return if they’re a no-go. They look pretty sweet. Though most reviewers advising them as a 5k to half shoe due to stack height.

ETA: NB’s carbon racer should be out in time for you too. A couple of leaked reviews on the FuelCell TC have been good and that’s the training shoe. High hopes for the racer.

Was assuming your usual size is 9.5, so 9.5 —> 10.

I'm a 9, usually. Anywho, as I stated neither the 9 nor the 10 work so Skechers missed a sale. I really wanted that shoe too.

You have a pair of Alpha Flys? I didn’t even realize they were available to non Nike Elites.

I’m not usually a Hoka fan, but want to try to Carbon X for some reason, based on reviews. Although I’ve got enough carbon plates in the closet for now, with the 4% and VFFK.

No, but they are going to drop this month. Pretty much everyone has to drop a marathon shoe this month or they can't race the Olympics. The running shop in town I talk to seem to think the Alphas will be out any time.

But the Alphas are banned for the Olympics anyhow, huh?

So the Next % are 1 and done for you? Didn’t you only use them for 26.2?

As far as marathoning, probably.

Nah, they're going to put them into production with a 39.9 stack height. They'll be running the Olympics. It's Nike bruh. Good race again today BTW.
