IF doesn't do anything special atleast physique wise, atleast not that we know of

It absolutely does - I feel almost cult like about it. The other night one of my fiancee's GFs asked her if I had gotten a peel. I'm under 200 lbs for the first time since college and my face looks younger and healthier (not just leaner). I have a ton more energy in every conceivable way. Mental, physical, sexual, stamina wise, discipline wise. I'm making the bed every morning for the first time in my life, killing it in the gym and at work and in the bedroom. Its changed my life or at least given me the desire to change my life.

Because you consumed less calories and lost fat. IF is a calorie intake manager. Nothing more.

re: To those who have tried intermittent fasting
It's the only "diet plan" that has ever worked for me. And I suspect there are latent benefits like the body burning off bad cells during the 12th - 16th hours. It certainly gives me both a mental and physical high in those latter hours of the fast.

re: To those who have tried intermittent fasting
I do IF as well. I’m eating in a deficit to lose weight. I eat my meals later in the day. I hate going to bed hungry, so my feeding period is from ~12pm to ~7pm. I agree, that it definitely helps, but it isn’t some ground breaking thing. I’m glad you’re living a healthier life, though.

Great, awesome it's working for you, but it's the caloric deficit that is causing the fat loss.

The mental energy yea that is a benefit of IF.

The autophagy, you get lost if that from the caloric deficit.

And yet there are over 2 dozens studies showing fat loss to be equivalent on a keto vs high carb diet once calories and protein are equated.

I’ve been doing OMAD for about a year, and I feel like I have a super power. I see people at work, and they say they are starving literally while they are eating all day. A thirst they can not quench. I get hunger pangs, every 4 hours or so, but they only last seconds.

Think of IF as an outage for a plant. Just gives your systems a chance to catch up on maintenance.

How long before you noticed any positive changes

IF isn't for everyone, if you are going to try it then give it 4 to 6 weeks. Start with 12 hr fasting and working up to 16+ hr fasting. I started IF 3 months ago and I am enjoying it. I sleep better, my t-levels have risen a little more than 200 points. My inflammation is less as well. Overall, I do feel better.

You can lose weight but its not necessarily happening if you don't burn more than you consume. It is easier to eat less and healthier when you are moving all your meals to 8 to 6 hr of eating. Also, if you receive the hormone balance benefit that can make you more efficient in burning calories.

Too many people focus on the number on the scale vs. body fat% and blood work.
